My Favorite Poets Wear Bandanas

My favorite poets wear bandanas
and speak porch parables of paisley prophecies
that push through asphalt, still.
Like the rose,
cause we a BADDD people.

Full of poems with roots deep and wide and persistent.
With prose like peonies and atom bombs,
concrete yields.

My favorite poets wear bandanas
of protest and surrender
and sonnets of art and war from the front lines.
Paisley and provocative and participating in their own power.
Yeah, my favorite poets wear bandanas.

For Sonia. For Tupac. ❤️
